Türkiye, leads the world interdonato lemon production race with 450,000 tons. Morphologically the fruit is long, large and cylindrical. Its skin is smooth, light green and bright. It contains fewer seeds. Due to the thickness of its skin, it has a large amount of demand in markets of Europe and Russia. It is mostly exported. Its trees are strong and almost without thorns. Is harvested in a seasonal interval between September and December. Due to it’s an early species of lemon and its demand in markets abroad its recipients are vast. Western Mediterranean region is suitable for its cultivation..
Besides it is a reliable source of vitamin C, it has an adequate impact on rheumatism, arthritis, gout, hypercholesterolemia and high uric acid levels. The amount of vitamin C it contains, meets more than the half of an adult’s daily vitamin C need.
